The paper deals with the evolution and shifts in Israel poetry, focusing mainly on the last decade and on the position (or opposition) of poetry today.
I suggest how the failure of the archetype of the ʽNew Jewʼ, in effect ensures the success of the national project of the ʽNew Jewʼ, i.e., Zionism.
I do so by conducting a close (Deluzian) reading of the protagonist’s désir, stressing the fundamental gap between ʽa placeʼ and ʽthe placeʼ within the Zionist discourse
